WHERE TO EAT/WHAT TO EAT
You can eat in the “Divino Sabor”, where they serve delicious Brazilian food, typical of Minas Gerais. You can go to Casa dos Contos, there they have the best food with a lot of options. The specialties of Minas Gerais are "Pão de Queijo" which is like cheese bread and "Tutu de Feijão" a dish made with beans. For daytime you can wear shorts and t-shirts, and for the night you can wear jeans and sweatshirts. It´s necessary to take extra socks and undewear. It is good to take two tennis shoes, one to get wet or dirty and the other for the night.
HOW TO GET THERE
From São Paulo or from Rio De Janeiro you can take a plane to Belo Horizonte, and then take a bus to Ouro Preto. If you want, you can go by car or bus directly from São Paulo, but it is a tiresome trip. It´s about six hours by car.
It is a good ideia to take money to buy some souvenirs.
You will walk a lot, in a warm temperature, so drink a lot of water.
BEST MOMENTS
For us the best moment was meeting Tião Painera. He is a happy man, who is always smiling. He is 82 years old, and has many stories to tell.
